Poetry Sunday-A-May-Zing

 A-May-Zing Times in the Garden

It’s May, it’s May the bluebird sang,

And robin echoed hooray with his glad refrain!

The frog croaked with delight as he sprang from the pond,

To welcome his friends to their new surrounds.

And buzzing bees joined hummingbirds on the wing,

This time in the garden is just A-May-Zing!

Poetry Sunday-Thoughts of May

DSCN7813

Thoughts of May

Of mothers, bees and bright bouquets

These are the images and thoughts of May.

Warm breezes, green fields and children at play

These are the sights and sounds of May.

Butterflies, frogs and birds twittering away

All of nature moves to the rhythm of May.

Fireflies brighten the lazy dusk of the day

Time slows in the early evening of May.

And the indigo sky shows a sparkling display

As we rest and dream of tomorrow in May.

Special Note:  The native wildflowers pictured here are Virginia bluebells or Mertensia virginica.  They are not related to English bluebells, but are similar in appearance.  In the Language of Flowers, bluebells represent gratitude.  A perfect flower to give to mom to show your gratitude.

Poetry Sunday-Limitless

DSCN1924

 Limitless

I am alive, free

on the wing of a bird flying high.

Their song lifts me

as it breaks against the early light,

bouncing through newly formed leaves.

I ride it, with the wind

blowing the clouds,

swirling over water seeing a face I did not know.

Feeling a soul lighter dancing on the ripples,

a giggle bubbles up and fills my heart.

The day is limitless

and endless to explore,

each not repeating only this one-

this day, this adventure.

This moment is enough!

This poem was written in early May last year, and updated a bit this year.  As we enter May, I like to celebrate the whole month.  Why, you ask?  Well May is my birth month (end of May the birthday), and with it also being a fabulous spring month with flowers everywhere and warmer weather, what’s not to celebrate.

Special Note:  The dawn shots were taken in spring, and show how beautiful each day really is….the last picture is of a female cardinal singing in the new day.
