Poetry Sunday: Who Are You?

Who Are You?

The life of the soul is where I reside now;

I am energized,

I am in my truth,

I am joyful, grateful, trusting.

On this journey with doubt and certainty-

I am building a self,

It is my life story,

There is a vision of possibilities here,

Now love fills me.

I am expanding into my higher self;

Knowledge and experience liberate me.

I am ready to be lifted above the drama.

The rewards expand before me on my path ever mindful of this moment where….

This life of the soul is where I reside now.

This poem flowed during a meditation where I was exploring my inner self; answering the question, ‘who are you?’  The pictures here are of Tibetan Prayer Flags on my bookshelf.  These flags are used to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. The wedding picture is of my husband and me…we are celebrating our 20th anniversary on Oct. 11th.  I’ll be away from my computer for the next 2 weeks so I’ll see you upon my return on the 22nd.

I am joining in with Poets United for their weekly poetry link up for poets who blog.

I leave you with a few additional words about who are you.  I welcome you to download the photo and share it.

  1. This is what I love about growing older. Decade by decade, we begin to live ever more away from the drama, in a place of quiet peace. Happy 20th, Donna, to you and your husband. Have a good two weeks, see you on your return.

  2. Oh this is so beautiful, Donna ❤️ especially love; “On this journey with doubt and certainty- I am building a self, It is my life story, there is a vision of possibilities here, now love fills me”… May your life always be filled with love and positive vibes. ❤️

  3. I think you are on the right track, Donna. We all need to ask the question “Who am I?” at different times in our lives, I think. Self-reflection is a good thing.

  4. Lovely affirmations of life … illustrated beautifully … what an awesome piece of photographic artwork (then again, I have a ‘thing’ for bookshelves). Smiles. And Congrats on a milestone anniversary.!

  5. How important it is to be yourself and create a world of your very own. So as you say you are “lifted above the drama” that snares others.

    1. I wish I had the magic answer for that as I am only fleetingly there….but my best advice is to connect more with your true self and find great solace there. I have found the more I stay connected with my soul and out of my ego mind, I can stay above the drama longer.
